NAPA STATE HOSPITAL TO HOST GOLF TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER
19th Annual “Wine Country Classic” to Benefit Special Activities for Patients

NAPA – Golfers from all over the state will meet on the links in Napa Valley this summer for the 19th annual “Wine Country Classic” golf tournament, scheduled for Friday, July 7 at the beautiful Chardonnay Golf Club, 2555 Jamieson Canyon Road, Napa. This charity event is co-sponsored by Napa State Hospital’s Volunteer Advisory Board and Sports and Special Events Committee, with proceeds going to a special activities fund for hospital patients.  Last year, the event raised about $5,000 for the hospital’s Canine Companion Program.

This year’s tournament is a best ball format and will kick off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.  In addition to first place prizes for the flights, the tournament will include awards for Closest to the Pin (men’s and women’s), Longest Drive (men’s and women’s) and a Hole in One (the golfer who makes this shot will receive a 2006 Nissan, courtesy of Napa Nissan).  There will also be a post-tournament banquet for players, a raffle for a three-day Carnival Cruise and both silent and live auctions featuring many fantastic items donated by local merchants.

The cost of the event is only $125 per player (tax-deductible). Interested players and foursomes of men, women and co-ed teams are invited to join their family, friends and playing partners for a fantastic day of fun, festivities and fundraising for a good cause.

Napa State Hospital offers a broad range of diagnostic, treatment, habilitation and rehabilitation services to more than 1,300 individuals who have been referred to the facility under a civil commitment or through the courts on a forensic commitment.
